What’s your favorite coffee shop? The CharlotteFive Coffee Shop Bracket
On these dreary, rainy and gray days we’ve had recently, it’s nice to relax in one of Charlotte’s many coffee shops with a hot mug of something delicious.
We could tell you what our favorite coffee shops are, but we’d rather hear from you. Presenting: The CharlotteFive Coffee Shop Bracket.
The selection criteria:
– We decided to pick only places where coffee was the star, which means no bakeries (sorry, Amelie’s).
– We created the bracket by looking at rankings on Yelp and focusing on local shops (sorry Starbucks and Caribou).
– Then, we seeded the top 8 by looking at combined social media following (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter), since that usually says something about the popularity of a place. This is what we ended up with:

– There’s a chance your favorite shop isn’t in the bracket. But we wanted to keep it to eight, meaning we had to leave some out.
Here’s how it works:
– Starting today, you can vote on the first-round match-ups below. The first round will remain open until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
– The winners move on to the second round, which starts Wednesday morning and runs through 5 p.m. Thursday.
– The final round will start Friday morning and we’ll announce the winner next Monday.
