The CharlotteFive Coffee Shop Bracket: Vote in the 2nd round
Everyone loves a good upset, right? Well we got one in the first round of the inaugural CharlotteFive Coffee Shop Bracket.
Rush Espresso, the No. 8 seed, came out of nowhere on Tuesday to beat No. 1 seed Not Just Coffee by fewer than 100 votes. I didn’t see this one coming. When I checked the polls late Monday night, it seemed like all the favorites would win. All but one did.
Rush also received the most overall votes of all eight shops. I hear there was a pretty serious get-out-the-vote push over there.
The 1st round results:
– (8) Rush Espresso 56%, (1) Not Just Coffee 44%
– (4) Central Coffee 75%, (5) Julia’s Cafe and Books 25%
– (3) The Daily Press 78%, (6) FABO Coffee*Art*Bar* 22%
– (2) Smelly Cat Coffeehouse 67%, (7) Dilworth Coffee 33%
The 2nd round
Time to vote in the second round, which features an intense NoDa vs. NoDa matchup. The second-round polls will remain open until 5 p.m. Thursday. Spread the word!
