Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit to open with free biscuits, swag — and coffee for a year
Bring on the biscuits: the long-awaited Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit has announced its grand opening.
Mark your calendar for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Jan. 31, when Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit will open to the public at 327 W. Tremont Ave. at South End’s new luxury apartments, The Penrose.
Here’s the big news: You can pre-order for pickup on opening day (via the store’s app). Everyone will get a free Hot Little Biscuit (with purchase). The first 10 customers will get a free tote, mug and coffee for a year. The first 25 customers will get a free tote bag. You can also get $25 off your Super Bowl order and enter to win two free biscuit-making classes (beginning in May) or five free baker’s dozens for your office. Callie’s is the grab-and-go version of the Charleston favorite Callie’s Charleston Biscuits, founded by Carrie Morey. This will be the fourth location for the shop, which will offer serve breakfast, lunch and late-night foods such as hot biscuits, pimento cheese sandwiches and pantry items. You can also order a full lunch menu, with soups and salads.
You can also get a free biscuit on your birthday (with I.D.).
In Charlotte, you’ll be able to order a special biscuit, The Queen Bee, a sweet potato biscuit with honey and turbinado sugar, CharlotteFive previously reported.
We’re already planning our first order: bowl of grits served in a biscuit bowl, topped with some fiery pimento cheese and a fried egg.
Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit also has shops in Atlanta and Charleston. The Charlotte location will be the largest of the four, and it will feature a full coffee bar with Charleston’s King Bean Coffee with retail space for the Callie’s line of frozen biscuits, pimento cheese and more.
