If you’ve been paying attention, you know that heading to your favorite big box home improvement store these days can be a bit dicey if you’re trying to take social distancing seriously.

As we all hang out at the homestead during the state’s stay-at-home orders to prevent community spread of the coronavirus, it only makes sense that may of us are itching to improve our backyard landscapes. This makes for a crowded Garden Center at many Charlotte retailers.

Consider this option: The next time you pick up takeout from local participating restaurants beginning April 20 until supplies run out, TreesCharlotte will hand out free seedlings with purchase. This is to coincide with the week of Earth Day (which is April 22 this year).

Three species of native seedlings will be available – Persimmons, Swamp White Oaks and Hickory Pignuts.
