Amelie’s now has ice cream, with flavors like salted caramel brownie, lavender lemon
This summer, Amélie’s French Bakery & Cafe will be serving more than just pastries, sandwiches and soups. Starting Wednesday, the perfect summer treat will be added to its menu: ice cream.
In 2018, Amélie’s took its famous macaroon cookies and joined them with different featured ice creams and sorbets to create a Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, fast forward to 2020, Amélie’s has expanded its ice cream offerings again, now offering pints to-go.
“Amélie’s was inspired by French custard ice cream, which is the base for two of the flavors we are making,” said Mary Jayne Wilson, executive chef at Amélie’s. “It’s not your average ice cream.”
Four flavors are making their debut to the menu. Here you go, so you can plan ahead what you’ll order:
(1) Salted Caramel Brownie
Caramel custard ice cream with decadent brownie pieces and a salted caramel swirl (gluten-free).
(2) Strawberry Chiffon
Chiffon cake, vanilla custard ice cream and a strawberry marmalade swirl made with North and South Carolina strawberries.
(3) Dairy-Free Chocolate Sea Salt
Oat milk-based ice cream, layered in dark chocolate and finished with flaky sea salt (gluten-free and vegan).
(4) Lavender Lemon
A sorbet with tart lemon and fresh lavender from Carolina Lavender (gluten-free and vegan).
“We wanted to reimagine our guests’ favorite flavors in a new way to enjoy this summer, like Lavender Lemon and Salted Caramel Brownie,” Wilson said. “We are passionate about what we do and just had to include ice cream in the family.”
All pints will be priced at $10.99 each and will be available starting at 10 a.m. To get your hands on this sweet treat, head to the nearest location to pick up a pint or order online.
