Wet Willie’s at AvidXchange Music Factory announced it is closing permanently, citing COVID-19 hardships.

The effects of COVID-19 are still rampant. With mandated closures statewide, and phased but limited reopenings, several Charlotte businesses have been unable to survive the times. The latest victim, Wet Willie’s in the AvidXchange Music Factory.

The announcement was made via the location’s Facebook page citing COVID-19 hardships as the reason.

“After 10 years of sharing great fun and cheer with our awesome Charlotte customers, we have closed this location due to the hardships of COVID-19,” the post read.

The popular bar, known for its adult slushies including the famous ‘attitude adjustment,’ was one of the most anticipated hangout spots for the then NC Music Factory nearly a decade ago. If you want to get your Wet Willie’s fix you’ll need to drive to South Carolina, with the closest remaining locations in Columbia, Beaufort, and Myrtle Beach.

We are sad to see such a longstanding social spot fall to the unfortunate effects of this global pandemic.

Attempts to reach Wet Willie’s were not immediately returned.
