Crepe Cellar to close temporarily; cozy, indoor spot not ideal for COVID distancing

Crepe Cellar Kitchen & Pub in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood is pausing operations until the end of July.

The restaurant said it is proud of its staff for taking coronavirus safety precautions in stride and keeping it safe and “COVID-free.” But as COVID-19 metrics rise, owners Jamie Brown and Jeff Tonidandel said keeping a cozy, indoor restaurant open is not the best use of resources at this time.

”This is a tough decision, but we’re in this business for the long haul and this is the best course of action for these two restaurants right now,” Tonidandel said in a statement.

Brown and Tonidandel said they plan to re-open both Crepe Cellar and its adjoining restaurant Growlers Pourhouse at the end of July. Operations will continue at Haberdish and Reigning Doughnuts, including online ordering options.
