Charlotte juice spot closes its Plaza Midwood location temporarily due to COVID
A fast-casual Plaza Midwood juice spot is one of the latest Charlotte spots to temporarily close due to a positive case of COVID-19.
On Tuesday evening, the Juice Bar posted on Instagram that it would close its Central Avenue location for a few days while all of its employees await coronavirus test results. In the meantime, the restaurant will complete a thorough disinfecting cleaning, the post stated.
An employee at the Juice Bar tested positive on July 14. “Unfortunately this has happened to our Juice Bar. We will be back as soon as we safely can. Please stay healthy and safe out there and we’ll let you know when we’ll reopen,” the post stated.
Juice Bar has three North Carolina locations: Belmont, Charlotte and Wilmington. It serves smoothies, juice and smoothie bowls. Co-owner Diana Chiaravalloti told WBTV in April that she had been excited to celebrate the second anniversary of the business on April 4, but then the COVID-19 pandemic reached the United States.
“We had regular customers,” she told WBTV. “We were really starting to get our stride and then March 17th — when we had to close our dining room and people were ordered to stay home, our business just dropped off dramatically.”
On Tuesday, those customers offered support via responses to the Instagram post. “Thank you for making the right choice, I will miss Juice Bar, but I will be the first one in line when you open up again,” customer Denise Rios wrote.
