Even Panthers fans can enjoy Philly cheesesteaks at BOA Stadium this weekend in Charlotte
Cheat’s Cheesesteak Parlor is a new Charlotte cheesesteak restaurant planning to open its first location off of Pecan Avenue (near Rico’s Acai and Villani’s Bakery), and while the team awaits permitting news from the city, there’s a way for you to get a sneak peek.
The Charlotte-based popup, Cheats Cheesesteaks, is partnering with Bank of America Stadium for a cheesesteak pop-up at this Sunday’s Carolina Panthers game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Here’s how it works:
- Pre-order your steak on Cheats Cheesesteaks’ website. Steaks are $15.99 with an option to add a side of spicy hot cherry peppers, water or chips. You can also skip the onions.
- Gates open at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, and you can show up between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to join the pre-order line.
Pre-orders won’t come with a time slot — you’ll just walk up and give them a team member your name and they will give you your steak as you head into the game.
- Although the pop-up often includes chicken and vegan options, on Sunday, it’ll just be cheesesteak to accommodate the predicted large volume.
- Cheat’s Cheesesteaks will be inside Bank of America Plaza, between the East and North entrances.
- Tailgaters welcome: You don’t have to have a ticket to the game to participate in the pop-up. You’ll still go through a security checkpoint.
- If you do have tickets: You can bring your cheesesteak into the stadium.

Cheat’s Cheesesteaks launched as a pop-up series last November while the team (partners Ryan Hart, Greg Balch and Hannah Smith) worked on its first brick and mortar. We’ll have more details to share about the restaurant soon.
And for the record, you can still love the Panthers and also love the Philly staple, Hart told CharlotteFive. “Our cheesesteaks are made for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully they put a delicious smile on both Panthers and Eagles fans faces this Sunday.”
