Editor’s note: Ahead of inclement weather expected during Hurricane Ian, Sycamore Brewing has postponed its moving party. “A little hurricane isn’t going to stop this party! It IS going to postpone it though. New party dates October 7th/8th. See y’all there!” the brewery announced.

Charlotte’s Sycamore Brewing is getting a new home, but you won’t need to travel far for your next Mountain Candy IPA. The South End brewery is moving right next door, from 2161 to 2151 Hawkins St. And now you can get cocktails and craft burgers, too.

Sycamore’s sleek new location anchors The Line, a new 16-story office building, and gives the brewery more room to expand and provide elevated experiences for Charlotte beer lovers.

“We see the move as an intensification and exciting enhancement of what we already offer out of our current taproom,” owner Sarah Brigham told CharlotteFive. “The move is an opportunity to bring Charlotte a one-of-a kind experience on a much larger scale.”

Brigham said the new site will have four bar areas in a much larger space. The new taproom is more than five times the size of the current one, with an additional 11,000 square-foot beer garden and 6,000 square-foot rooftop beer garden above the light rail trail. The common area between the two buildings will be nothing short of “amazing,” Brigham said.

Sycamore opened in November 2014, and has become a popular neighborhood hangout spot, known for its rotating selection of fun, signature brews such as Southern Girl Blonde, Rainbow Dust or the latest – Hop Gummies IPA, released just this week.

“We keep things fresh. We push boundaries. We are dynamic and aren’t afraid to step outside of what’s expected in the industry,” Brigham said. “Most importantly, we never forget that beer is about having a good time.”

With the expanded space, Sycamore will enhance its offering to include:

  • More live music, now in two locations: the rail trail beer garden and rooftop beer garden

  • The launch of a custom-built Airstream food truck to serve craft burgers and fries, with vegan and gluten-free options

  • An enhanced beverage selection with the addition of cocktails on tap

  • An “unpretentious and super fresh dining menu,” featuring food that pairs well with a cold beverage

  • A coffee shop that serves house roasted coffees, pastries, sandwiches and salads

NEW PARTY DATES: From Oct. 7-8, Sycamore will hold a moving party, which will include non-stop live music on two stages, food trucks, special beer releases and local vendors. It’s expected to be the largest party ever at the brewery and “an epic three-day celebration of our story so far and the future of Sycamore,” Brigham said.
