It’s Thanksgiving prep time, and you’ve got choices: Cook, order out, or go out to eat at a Charlotte-area restaurant.
If cooking for a crowd is not your thing, you can pre-order a Thanksgiving meal and reheat it to serve (and your guests may never know). Or, you can go another route and make plans to dine out at a local restaurant instead.
You’ll find options including prix fixe meals, a buffet and a la carte dining that are sure to keep your picky mom and your very hungry cousins happy. But don’t wait — reservations for holiday lunches and dinners fill up fast.
Here are Charlotte-area restaurants that are open to serve you on Thanksgiving Day 2022:
Angeline’s
Location: 303 S Church St, Charlotte, NC 28202
Angeline’s three-course Thanksgiving meal will be served family style, with part of the proceeds going to No Kid Hungry North Carolina.
First course choices:
- Harmony Ridge Farms squash and bitter greens salad with local squash, charred radicchio and endive, truffle and apple cider vinaigrette and toasted hazelnuts
- Tuscan White Bean & Butternut Stew with cannellini beans, squash, kale, tomato, roasted garlic and housemade baguette
Second course and sides:
- Dr. Joe’s Smoked and Carved Turkey with maple orange glaze and shallot cranberry agrodolce
Honey glazed carrots with whipped ricotta and black pepper
Green bean casserole with crispy onions
Whipped potatoes
Crispy Brussels with pickled granny smith apples and mustard seed
Third course choices:
- Pear and ricotta cake with pear cider gel, hazelnut dust, pear chip and ricotta gelato
- Pumpkin tart with caramel cinnamon glaze, cocoa nibs, pumpkin lace cookie and brown butter cayenne gelato

Looking from a break from the traditional Thanksgiving menu? Angry Ale’s will be open, serving up its usual offerings of burgers, tacos, wings and more.

The Capital Grille
Location: 201 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202
The Capital Grille’s Thanksgiving meal is plated per person and includes Slow-Roasted Turkey with Brioche Stuffing. French Green Beans with Marcona Almonds and Cranberry-Pear Chutney, as well as Sam’s Mashed Potatoes for the table. Pecan-Crusted Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Hot Honey ($13) and Pumpkin Cheesecake ($12) are available as add-ons.

Choplin’s Restaurant

Choplin’s Restaurant will serve its full dinner menu, along with a selection of holiday favorites on Thanksgiving day. (Menu selections change daily, based on the freshest ingredients.)

Church and Union Charlotte

Church and Union will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu on Thanksgiving Day menu.
The first course choices will include:
- Cauliflower soup with buttery croutons, rosemary oil and cauliflower florets
- Butternut and cranberry salad with mixed greens, walnuts, fennel, pecorino and carrot ginger vinaigrette
- Koji beet salad with smoked goat cheese, cheese espuma, pistachio and herb salad.
The second course selections are:
- Turkey Two Ways with walnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, glazed baby carrots and gravy
- Citrus Glazed Ham with sweet potato purée, haricot verts and pearl onions
- Sweet Potato Gnocchi with local mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, charred pearl onions and ricotta salata
- Filet ($10 supplement) with Yukon potatoes, broccolini and porcini bordelaise
- Flounder ($10 supplement) with beluga lentils, asparagus, pearl onion, lardon and beurre rouge
Third course dessert options include:
- Caramel Apple Bake with toasted almonds, caramel mousse and cinnamon apple butter
- Carrot Cake with cream cheese mousse, candied walnuts and brown sugar carrot purée
- Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu with pumpkin sponge, espresso soak, cinnamon mascarpone sabayon and brown butter tuile.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood

Eddie V’s Thanksgiving celebration will feature live music with a plated dinner including:
- Slow-roasted turkey
- French green beans. with sundried tomatoes

- Butternut squash
- Pan gravy with mirepoix brunoise

- Cranberry chutney
- Bread basket

Both locations of Epic Chophouse will offer an Epic Thanksgiving Buffet, with selections for children, as well. Main items include:

- Antarctic Sixty South Salmon Fillet

Fish Market Bar & Grill

Fish Market’s family style feast offers plated meals with conservative portions, but notes refills are available. The restaurant also asks that if there’s something on the menu that you don’t plan to eat that you let your server know in advance to help reduce waste.
The meal includes:

- Roasted kabocha squash soup with chive oil, herbed croutons and black pepper crème fraîche
The second course offerings are:
- Petite Filet Mignon with parsnip purée, haricot vert and green peppercorn jus
- Beet Root Gnocchi with walnut pesto, butternut squash, rosemary brown butter and Pecorino-Romano cheese
- Salmon A La Plancha with pomegranate and mint farro piccolo and lemon-coriander yogurt
- Roasted Turkey, dark and light meat, with chestnut stuffing, sweet potato purée, crispy Brussels sprouts, cranberry and turkey velouté.
Third course dessert options are:
- Chef’s selection of ice cream and sorbet
- La Ricane peanut shortbread with caramel, nougat mousse and milk chocolate
- Tart A La Citrouille with Caramelia whipped ganache, spiced pumpkin mousse, a cinnamon tart shell and a pepita macaron.

New South Kitchen & Bar is offering a three-course Thanksgiving menu consisting of small plates and big plates, along with sides and sweet plates. A children’s menu will be available at the restaurant, as well.
Choices for the big plates are Deep Fried Turkey Breast with cranberry sauce and gravy ($40), gluten-free Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder with bourbon peach glaze ($38) and gluten-free Rosemary & Mustard Crusted Rib Roast with red wine au jus and horseradish sauce ($56).
Sides include sausage and cornbread dressing, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, collards and green beans. Sweet plate options include Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream, Pumpkin Pie Bread Pudding with whipped cream and bourbon sauce, and Chocolate Mousse with raspberry sauce.
