Look for coffee in the morning, pizza at night when The Pit Stop opens in Mooresville
The Pit Stop, a new Lake Norman spot where you can start your day with a morning cup of coffee or wrap up your evening with a burger while you play pool, is coming soon to Mooresville. There’s even a little magic on the menu, too.
Aaron Porter and BJ Stockton co-own The Pit Stop, which is targeting a spring opening in the former Amo Cafe location on Williamson Road in the Shoppes at the French Quarter.
In the mornings, The Pit Stop will open at 6 a.m. to serve coffee drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos, along with grab-and-go pastries. At lunch and dinner time, the menu will shift to heartier bar fare, including wood-fired pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and even funnel cakes. On Friday and Saturday nights, when the doors are open until 2 a.m., a late-night menu will take effect.
The full bar will have a few local beers on tap, along with bottles and cans from familiar brands.
Guests will also find a pool table and TVs hung throughout the bar to catch the latest sports, plus live music. Stockton, who’s a motivational speaker and magician, plans to join the lineup of entertainment options himself, as well. (He also performs for events and offers lessons.)
‘We just want it to be an entire experience,” Stockton said.
Out front there’s a small patio, with plans to make use of it later in spring and the summer. And while The Pit Stop hasn’t even opened yet, the owners have their eye on expanding their business to include the shop next door, which is currently vacant. If they can get their hands on it, they’d like to add more dining room space, as well as more pool tables.
“Whatever the people want around here ... that’s what we’re going to do,” Porter said.
