Is Popeyes’ new biscuit a threat to the beloved Bojangles’ Bo-Berry? We tested them

There’s a new fast food biscuit in town, similar to a beloved classic.

Popeyes debuted its new strawberry biscuit this spring, “the brand’s classic buttery biscuits filled with fruity strawberry bits and topped with creamy icing,” per the chain. The biscuits are available for a limited time and start at $1.79 for one biscuit, two biscuits for $2.99, or four biscuits for $5.39.

And if that description brought to mind the Bojangles Bo-Berry biscuit, another fast food twist on the Southern classic infused with fruit and covered with a sweet icing, you’re not alone. We at The Charlotte Observer’s Service Journalism Team had the same thought and decided to put together a taste test to see which is best.

You can watch the video above to hear our thoughts on both biscuits, but (spoiler alert) we unanimously ended up siding with the Bo-Berry biscuit.
