This Charlotte restaurant is one of the top mocktail spots in the US, Yelp says
If you’re taking part in Dry January this year, a local restaurant has been named one of top places to get a delicious mocktail in the U.S.
Yelp released a list of the top 25 mocktail spots in the U.S., featuring bars and restaurants around the country with a great selection of zero-proof drinks. Businesses on the list include non-alcoholic bars, cocktail bars and restaurants with mocktail options, and more.
Out of all the restaurants and bars across the country, Yunta Nikkei in Charlotte ranked among the top 25.
The South End restaurant, which opened back in 2022, serves Peruvian Nikkei cuisine with ceviche, sushi and grilled items on the menu, plus desserts and drinks.
In addition to beer, wine and cocktails, Yunta also has a special mocktail menu, too:
Amantani: Amass Riverin (a gin like non-alcoholic spirit) pineapple, cardamom, lemon, arbol, ginger ale
The Gardener: Seedlip Garden (a rosemary, mint and pea non-alcoholic spirit), Peruvian black mint, lime, watermelon
Isle del Sol: Seedlip 94 (a spicy non-alcoholic spirit), mango, hibiscus, lemon
Beck’s: Non-alcoholic German beer
“I believe having non-alcoholic options on my cocktail menu is vital,” Ashley Sarkis, bar manager, told CharlotteFive. “There are many times when people can’t, or choose not to drink alcohol. Having non-alcoholic options available gives guests a safe alternative to enjoy thoughtfully crafted drinks.”

Out of all of the restaurants and bars across the country, Yunta Nikkei was the only restaurant and bar in North Carolina featured among Yelp’s list of the best mocktail spots.
“I was super shocked how amazing this place is and I can’t wait to bring my friends and have multiple dinners here in the future,” one Yelp review said. “Started out with some mocktails that were delicious and I like the fact that they have a mocktail list.”
Another Yelp reviewer said, “This was an incredible experience from start to finish…The drink was hands down my favorite part of the meal and I loved that they had handcrafted mocktails for those of us who can’t drink.”
