Sneak peek: Catch Flight, a new wine-forward, European-inspired restaurant in Elizabeth
Flight, a new wine-forward restaurant, will open in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood on Aug. 2, in the former Stanley Drug Store building.
Owners Dwight and Vicki Bailey have a love of travel, wine and food. The medical professionals turned restaurateurs will feature European-inspired small plates and artisanal pizzas paired with rare wines from around the country and world.
Dwight said the couple has enjoyed traveling throughout Europe specifically. “We have tried to capture a lot of those experiences and bring them into this space, bring them back to our neighborhood,” he told CharlotteFive on Monday, July 29. This includes wine and other drinks, food, decor and even service. “It’s really trying to take what we have enjoyed over years through those travels and bring it here and allow our friends, family, our guests to experience exactly what we have here in Charlotte.”
“We looked all over the city but we always wanted to land right here in Elizabeth,” Vicki said. She called the decor “industrial elegance.”
Also expect:
- Wine: 150 bottles and 30-50 by the glass options, including wine flights.
- Adventurous cocktails, including non-alcoholic options, and sangria.
- Local and travel-inspired beers.
- Fresh-made bread, charcuterie boards and desserts.
Flight will be managed by Vicki and Dwight’s daughter/stepdaughter, Kayte Morton.
