Father’s Day, the day to honor your dad and celebrate fatherhood, is coming up soon.

In 2024, the big day is on Sunday, June 16. So it’s time to get moving on making plans and finding something that will let your dad, father figure or other guy in your life know he’s loved.

Here are some restaurants with special brunch or dinner offerings, along with other ways to celebrate Father’s Day in the Charlotte area:

Add dad’s name to a race car

Location: Online

If your dad is a race car fan, you can honor him by making him part of a race this year. Bryce Applegate, an 18-year-old Kentucky native racing in Charlotte, is offering you the chance to add your dad’s name to his zMAX Cars Tour race car for the June 15 race at Dominian Raceway in Virginia. He’ll also recognize those who purchased a star on his social media platforms.

Angry Ale’s

If your dad might like a cold beer and a beefy burger, you’ll want to take him to Angry Ale’s. Its special on Father’s Day is Dad’s Big Burger, a 1 lb. Bacon cheeseburger with fries and onion rings, plus a special on Bud Light Drafts.

The Asbury

Location: The Dunhill Hotel, 235 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202

The Asbury is serving an a la carte menu with dad-friendly specials on Father’s Day from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Look for steak and eggs, Creole Shrimp Eggs Benedict and a BLT Waffle Sammy, plus Asbury brunch favorites such as warm banana walnut bread, strawberry cream cheese pancakes, and the Asbury Burger.

The Ballantyne

Location: The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte, 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277

You can take your dad out to dinner at The Ballantyne’s Gallery Restaurant or gift him a reservation to one of its new Whiskey Club events.

On July 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., your dad can experience a four-course tasting experiences featuring IW Harper Cabernet Cask, IW Harper 15Y, George Dickel 15Y and Blade and Bow.

Bonefish Grill

All Bonefish Grill locations will open early at 10 a.m. on Father’s Day so you can get an early start on brunch. Offerings include its Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict, Crème Brûlée French Toast and the BFG Egg Burger.

The Capital Grille

The Capital Grille is featuring a 22-ounce prime bone-in ribeye with caramelized shallot jus and truffle butter for Father’s Day, along with a suggested pairing of Caymus 50th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon, available by the glass.

Caroline’s Oyster Bar

In June, Caroline’s Oyster Bar will be hosting a Lobsterfest celebrating coastal cuisines with specialty lobster menu items each week, a select $6 beer feature for the month — Sycamore Mountain Candy — and a Father’s Day celebration with complimentary gifts for Dad. The week of Father’s Day, country fried lobster with piri piri and succotash will be the featured dish.

Dean’s Italian Steakhouse

Brunch will take place 7 a.m.- noon, and dinner service lasts from 2-9 p.m. You’ll find items such as Italian Style Shakshuka and the Oscars Burger topped with jumbo lump crab for brunch, and 20 ounce dry age porterhouse for dinner.

Duke Mansion’s Father’s Day Cookout + Concert

Location: 400 Hermitage Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207

Duke Mansion will be hosting a Father’s Day Cookout and concert starting at 4 p.m., where you can spread out on the lawn and listen to country/rock group The HC Oakes Band at 5 p.m. The cookout buffet will offer a lineup of burgers, hot dogs, pulled barbecue chicken and sides, plus vegetarian options. Banana pudding and smore’s brownies will be there for dessert. Two mocktail beverage tickets per adult are included, and specialty cocktails available for an additional fee.

Eddie V’s

Eddie V’s will open early for Father’s Day, serving its full dinner menu from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., with live music starting at 4 p.m. Its featured special will be an 11-ounce Snake River Farms Gold Label Wagyu strip steak. A suggested pairing is Eddie V’s limited edition single barrel select Blanton’s Bourbon. As a gift, dads will receive a collectible Blanton’s topper by request.

El Puro Cuban Restaurant

Location: 5033 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217

El Puro is treating dads to a Cuban getaway without leaving the city during brunch from noon-3 p.m. and dinner from 6-9 p.m.

Brunch will feature live music by Mau & Johnny, while Son D Oriente will perform at dinner.

Mizu is offering Father’s Day brunch and dinner options. Early in the day, you and your dad can enjoy a Wagyu filet with eggs or try robata grilled brunch items like yakitori or yuzu prawns. At dinner, try a Waygu filet and lobster tail or upgrade to Surf and Turf for Two with a Tomahawk steak and two lobster tails.

Oak Steakhouse is offering a Father’s Day prix fixe menu with prime rib carved tableside, pommes aligot, grilled asparagus, and au jus. Dessert is a pineapple upside down cake with bourbon caramel, cherry compote and toasted coconut. The full dinner menu is also available.

Steak 48

Steak 48 will serve its full menu on Father’s Day, with seafood, salads and, of course, a variety of steaks among the selections.

While you’re there, you can try the popular steakhouse’s new blistered shishito peppers appetizer, or its Boursin cheese whipped potatoes or shells & cheese side dishes. A new caviar program has recently been added, as well.

SupperClub SouthEnd

Location: 3521 Dewitt Lane, Charlotte, NC 28217

SupperClub’s is cooking up a Father’s Day barbecue feast from noon-5 p.m. Executive chef Blake Nolen will man the smoker, cooking up barbecue that can be enjoyed on the restaurant’s patio or indoors. After the meal, you can play a game of duck pin bowling or shooting some pool with your dad, too.
