Another popular bagel shop is joining Charlotte’s food and drink scene.

PopUp Bagels is making its way to the Southeast with plans to open 10 locations across North Carolina to get a taste of its “crispy crusts and soft crumb centers,” including one in the Queen City this summer at The Bowl at Ballantyne.

“Having spent years visiting Charlotte for the holidays with my family, I am excited to roll out our fresh hot bagels to the Ballantyne community,” Adam Goldberg, founder of PopUp Bagels, said in a news release sent to CharlotteFive.

PopUp Bagels got its start as a passion project in Goldberg’s Connecticut kitchen in 2021 and opened as a backyard pickup window. Since then, it’s quickly grown into a “not famous but known” brand with multiple pop-ups and permanent spaces even outside of the state in New York and Massachusetts.

“From the first time we tasted PopUp Bagels in NYC, we knew they were something truly extraordinary — every bite showcases an unparalleled dedication to quality and flavor. We can’t wait for our community to fall in love with these freshly-baked bagels and creative schmear flavors,” Todd Gallinek from Power Brands Hospitality Group said.

An opening date has yet to be announced but once open, the new PopUp Bagel shops will have freshly-baked bagels, including everything, sesame, and poppy seed flavors with unique schmear flavors.
