Valentine’s Day — an occasion to show your love for partners, kids, friends and even yourself — is Feb. 14.

This year’s Friday date for the holiday also means reservations will likely be even tougher to come by in Charlotte, so planning ahead is crucial if you have something specific in mind. Dinners, special events and even picking up some takeout to enjoy at home are all possibilities.

There are a few Galentine’s Day events in the mix, as well.

To all those who celebrate, here’s where you can partake in Valentine’s Day offerings this year:

Angeline’s

Location: Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, 303 S. Church St., Charlotte NC 28202

Angelien’s Galentine’s celebration will include a special prix-fixe menu on Feb. 13, from 5-11 p.m. that was created by the women of the Merchant & Trade team. Expect classic Girl Dinner bites and music by DJ Des $. (And, yes, boys are allowed.)

Guests can select two dishes from the special menu including:

  • Oven-roasted Caesar Brussels coated with Caesar dressing, shaved Parmesan, toasted bread crumbs and lemon zest
  • Crispy Truffle Fries tossed in truffle rosemary salt and shaved Parmesan, served with truffle aioli
  • Shrimp Tempura paired with sweet potato, green beans, zucchini and grapefruit nuoc cham
  • Avocado Toast with whole grain bread, fresh avocado, fried egg, toasted pumpkin seeds and arugula with an apricot mustard vinaigrette.

The Girl Dinner menu also offers a build-your-own martini experience known as the Business Women Special (and a zero-proof option is also available):

  • Espresso Martini, shaken with local cold brew and the choice of Titos Vodka or Lalo Blanco Tequila; Caffee Borghetti or Southern Star Double Shot Bourbon Cream; and M&T Demerara Syrup or Chai Syrup.

  • Dirty Martini with freezer-stored Tito’s Vodka, shaken with the choice of olive brine or pickle juice; garnished with a choice of blue cheese olives, Spanish queen olives, Texas Pete, mini gherkins or pepperoncini.
