Popular East Coast indoor-outdoor restaurant chain opens in Lake Norman-area location soon
Burtons Grill & Bar, a popular East Coast restaurant chain, plans to open a third Charlotte-area location on April 22, near Huntersville’s Birkdale Village mixed-use community and Lake Norman.
Its all-day, made-from-scratch menu features appetizers, salads and bowls, sandwiches, burgers, fresh seafood and prime steaks. It’s also well known for its gluten-free and allergy-friendly options.

Menu highlights include:
- Crab-Crusted Haddock: crab cake, lemon butter sauce, seasonal vegetable, herbed jasmine rice ($37)
- Superfood Salad: spinach, avocado, quinoa, grape tomatoes, julienned vegetables, feta, dried cranberries, lemon vinaigrette ($18)
- Maxx Burger: Allen Brothers Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion strings, American cheese, special sauce, brioche bun, french fries ($19.50)
- Lobster Roll: brioche bun, french fries, coleslaw; choice of warm and buttered or chilled with lettuce, seasoned aioli ($33)
- Mediterranean Chicken Risotto: artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes, spinach, feta, lemon butter sauce, pesto ($27.50)
Beverages include wine and craft beer, cocktails and mocktails.
The 6,085-square-foot Huntersville restaurant will seat 152 diners inside and 93 outside, including on a covered patio with fans, heaters and lights and an open patio with umbrellas.
The restaurant will be anchored by a 28-seat bar and have two private dining rooms — a 32-seat corner room with direct access to the patio and a 36-seat interior room with A/V capabilities.
The location will join two others in the Charlotte area, at Park Road Shopping Center and Blakeney Town Center.
Burtons opened its first location 20 years ago in Hingham, Mass. The restaurant now has 23 East Coast locations open or coming soon in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
