New Waxhaw pizzeria quietly serves up top-tier pies with deep flavor

At first glance, Siano’s Pizza and Pasta doesn’t look like the kind of place where you’d find one of Charlotte’s top-tier pies.

There are just two small tables inside, no glossy signage or Instagrammable wall art. It’s located on Waxhaw-Marvin Road in a modest storefront that feels more like a weekday lunch stop than a pizza destination.

But don’t let the low-key setup fool you. Order the 18-inch cheese pizza and everything changes.

The crust has a perfectly crisp, well-done undercarriage with no flop and no sogginess. Every bite delivers surprisingly deep flavor. There’s a light tang in the sauce, great flavor in the cheese and a harmony among ingredients that shows real intention behind the food.

Siano’s opened quietly in April and feels like the kind of neighborhood joint that grows by word of mouth. While it is still a work in progress toward a full opening, it’s the kind of spot locals stumble upon once, then start planning their week around.

Technically in Waxhaw, it’s a bit of a drive from uptown, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see this shop become a regular detour for anyone in Charlotte who cares about good pizza.

One employee told us that they really focus on their pizza. That starts with filtered water and a multi-day dough fermentation. It’s simple, but it matters.

The style lands somewhere between New York and New Haven. The crust is ultra-thin with slightly charred edges and minimal toppings, and the dough is clearly the star of the show. You’ll taste the difference immediately.

Siano’s is mostly set up for takeout, but it’s easy to imagine a future with a few picnic tables out front and a steady stream of lunch-goers and pizza lovers passing through.

While the full menu includes pasta and other Italian staples, the pizza is clearly the main event. It’s obvious they’ve put serious thought into getting it right.

In a city where pizza options continue to grow, Siano’s is a reminder that great pizza doesn’t need gimmicks. It just needs care, quality and a little crunch.
