A fusion restaurant serving Indo-Chinese cuisine is coming to South Charlotte.

In early September, Inchin’s Bamboo Garden began welcoming customers to its new location at 3607 Whitehall Park Drive.

A soft opening week was held beginning Friday, Sept. 5, ahead of its grand opening, according to a news release obtained by CharlotteFive. New menu items were announced on the restaurant’s Instagram account on Sept. 10.

Owner and operator Sandeep “Sunny” Madhukuri said guests can enjoy 50% off any meal this week but must book a table by calling 704-496-9472.

Known for its pan Asian fare and craft cocktails, Inchin’s Bamboo Garden operates 21 restaurants across the U.S., including two in North Carolina, its website says. This will be its second location in Charlotte, replacing the Siam Garden restaurant that shuttered last year.

The latter was once named among Charlotte’s best Thai food spots, serving must-try soft shell crab in a cozy dining room “with lots of unique and distracting decorations in every corner,” CharlotteFive reported in 2019.

On its website, Inchin’s Bamboo Garden said its menu is inspired by the flavors and “unique cooking techniques” brought to India by Chinese workers during the 18th century.

“Over the past 18 years we have spent time experimenting, and today serve a fusion of many far eastern cuisines,” it said. “Some of the dishes are inspired by Malaysian cooking, which in turn is influenced by Indian and Chinese cooking styles.

“Since then, we have evolved and added popular dishes from Singapore, Thailand, and even India.”

Featured dishes run the gamut from vegetable Thai yellow curry, stir-fries and Mongolian beef to butter chicken, noodles and steamed dumplings — though offerings may vary by location.

The new Charlotte spot includes a private dining area that seats up to 15 guests, according to the news release. The space also features a full bar serving craft cocktails and specialty wines.
