This SouthPark restaurant has closed its doors permanently
Bulla Gastrobar, a Spanish small plates restaurant in SouthPark, has permanently closed its doors.
A moving truck was posted outside the restaurant on Monday morning, shuttling out some equipment and furniture.
Although a woman answering the phone at the restaurant’s catering and events number told CharlotteFive early Monday that the restaurant would reopen later Monday afternoon, that was not the case.
Instead, the restaurant was empty of both staff and chairs, among other things. No food prep was taking place, despite the fact that online ordering was still seemingly available. And the landlord was there to shut everything off and lock the doors.
Messages left on the restaurant’s automated voicemail system were not immediately returned, and neither were emails.
Someone from the restaurant confirmed the closure to Charlotte Business Journal, however, saying: “This decision was difficult; this location is no longer financially viable, and the closure comes as we navigate challenging economic conditions that have significantly impacted its ability to operate.”
The restaurant has struggled throughout the year, closing on and off for a few days or more at a time and posting B grades for inspections in May and again in October.
