Fast-casual restaurant with Asian flair plans location in South End Charlotte
There’s a new Asian fusion restaurant taking shape in South End Charlotte.
At Three Lanterns Restaurant, foodies will find a blend of Indian, Japanese and Vietnamese flavors. The fast-casual eatery is slated to open this summer, according to social media posts, though an official launch date hasn’t been announced.
The address also remains under wraps as the brand looks to lock down a site “that will serve as a commissary-style hub, which will supply satellite locations to follow,” Business Debut first reported.
Featured menu items will include spicy tuna poke bowls, garlic beef banh mi, veggie roti wrap and classic pho chicken soup, among other Asian-inspired offerings.
There’s a breakfast menu, too. Think: Japanese-style onigiri with scrambled eggs and bacon or steamed bao buns filled with soft eggs, sauce and herbs. Wash it down with a Vietnamese iced coffee or boba tea (there are eight flavors in all), according to the restaurant’s website.
Hervé Laveaud, a consultant and founder of Three Lanterns Hospitality, said the concept is geared toward students and busy professionals on the go.
“Everything is designed for speed, quality, and portability,” he wrote in a recent Instagram post. “Walk in, grab your breakfast, and go. This is the type of food Gen Z and millennials want: bold flavors, healthier ingredients, and food that fits their lifestyle.”
CharlotteFive has reached out to Laveaud for more information but didn’t immediately hear back.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
