Where are the best places for cheap drinks in Charlotte? We want to hear from you

If you’ve lived in Charlotte for more than five minutes, you’ve probably noticed: a casual drink can add up fast.

Long gone are the days of $1 beers at places like Boardwalk Billy’s, and happy hours are still illegal in North Carolina.

That means, between craft cocktails and brewery tabs, a night out can sneak into triple digits before you know it.

When I’ve been out, I’ve noticed some places lean heavy on ice, which can make higher-priced drinks feel a little less straightforward. And I’m usually not trying to pay $5 for a standard Bud Light can.

So, Charlotte, we’re asking: Where are you finding cheap drinks right now? Drop your favorite spots – we’re working on a guide and want to hear from you.

For this roundup, we’re defining “cheap” as beers in the $3-$4 range and cocktails under $10, available every day -- not just on certain days.

Email emoore@charlotteobserver.com with your go-to budget spot. We’re all ears.
