This new Charlotte club delivers meat to your door. Oh, and it starts at $195/month.

For some people, joining a club means access to a golf course or exclusive cocktails. For others, it means a cooler full of premium steaks, specialty meats and enough grilling inspiration to make the neighbors jealous.

The Chop Shop Butchery is betting there are plenty of people in the second category.

The Charlotte butcher shop has launched a new Meat Club membership program, offering monthly boxes packed with butcher-selected meats, pantry items and recipes. The memberships come in two tiers: Classic Cut and Reserve.

What’s included?

The entry-level Classic Cut membership costs $195 per month and includes a monthly assortment of fresh, never-frozen meats, specialty pantry items, recipe cards and cooking inspiration selected by the shop’s butcher team.

The higher-end Reserve membership costs $395 each month and comes with everything included in Classic Cut, along with larger selections, complimentary delivery within the Charlotte area and early access to holiday orders.

Reserve members also receive a dedicated section inside the shop’s cooler with their name displayed on it — a perk that may appeal to anyone who’s ever dreamed of having their own personal meat locker.

Only 12 founding Reserve memberships are available, and those members will receive a Chop Shop-branded YETI item.

According to The Chop Shop, the memberships are designed to help customers discover new products while giving them access to premium cuts selected by butchers who know the farms, animals and products behind the counter.

How to join

Customers can sign up for either membership tier through the shop.

Each month, the butcher team selects the products, and members can pick up their boxes on the first Friday, Saturday or Sunday of the month at the shop.

Classic Cut members can add delivery for an additional $15 per month, while delivery is included for Reserve members.

Memberships require a minimum three-month commitment.
