Where they got engaged At Laura’s condo, before leaving for an event at the Knight Theater in uptown Charlotte. Two days later, the couple went on a pre-planned trip with Dave’s mother to Prague to visit family. “It was wonderful to be introduced the relatives as his fiancée and celebrate together,” says Laura.

What made the wedding special “We had the most beautiful venue in the Duke Mansion and we took advantage of every corner—the ceremony on the lawn, the cocktail party in the courtyard, our private dinner on the second floor, the fresh air on the front porch, and the glorious late-night biscuit bar under the chandelier in the atrium,” Laura says. “We all could enjoy the evening however we wanted, whether it was on the dance floor or stealing away for a quiet conversation in the rocking chairs.”
Best part of the wedding day The first look. “That time together made the rest of the evening so relaxed and enjoyable,” says Laura.
Honeymoon One week in Santorini, Greece.
Favorite date night If at home, cooking and watching a documentary. If out, dinner, drinks, and a good dose of people watching.
Advice for brides “Enjoy every minute with your loved ones,” Laura says.
Advice for grooms “Listen to the bride!” says Dave.
