Before This Couple Got Engaged, Their Parents Had to Meet [Que & John]

John and I had talked about getting married, but we didn’t want to take any significant steps toward it until we’d set up a meeting between both of our parents—that was very important for both of us.

Our next challenge: finding an engagement ring. After one jewelry store visit, I decided that I wanted to help choose my ring—and I’m pretty sure John was relieved he wouldn’t have to make the selection by himself. So last spring, John and I spent a few days in L.A. for my best friend’s wedding. It was there (the day before the ceremony) that we found the ring I really wanted, and John proposed. We set our wedding date for exactly one year later.
