Golden Cow Creamery opens today in SouthPark, with salted Oreo ice cream, Suarez Bakery ice cream sandwiches and more.
Golden Cow Creamery is opening its second location today at noon in SouthPark at 720 Governor Morrison St. The craft ice cream shop is in the same shopping center as Yafo Kitchen, Sabor and Barnes & Noble.
Golden Cow Creamery was first opened in South End in 2016 by native North Carolinians Liz and Alex Hannah. The second location is around double the size of their first space. Picnic tables are outside the shop for additional seating.
“A lot of our customers [from the South End location] come from over here [SouthPark], said Alex. “South End’s traffic is getting harder and harder to get through, so this way they don’t have to.”
The six ice cream flavors they offer in South End will be served at the new location: Rich Chocolate, Creamy Vanilla, Fresh Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Salted Oreo and Dunkaroos. A single scoop is $4.25 and a double scoop is $5.50. You can buy a pint for $8.75.
They will also continue to sell ice cream sandwiches with Suarez Bakery, and milkshakes.
“We try to keep it simple,” said Alex. “And make the best of the flavors we can.”
In the last year, they’ve done over 100 rotating flavors including brown butter whiskey pecan, mocha, pineapple habanero and honey lavender. In SouthPark, they’ll be bringing your favorites back more frequently by changing their rotating flavors from monthly to every few days.
On opening day, Golden Cow Creamery will have giveaways and a raffle that include prizes like free scoops, free merchandise, ice cream for a year and more.
Alex also mentioned that there will be more Golden Cow Creamery locations coming to Charlotte in the future.
The SouthPark location will be open Monday-Wednesday from noon-9 p.m., Thursday-Saturday from noon-10 p.m., and Sunday from noon-9 p.m.
