Renaissance Patisserie, a French bakery dedicated to pastries, baguettes, cakes and more, is expected to have a soft opening April 20 inside Specialty Shops at SouthPark, near Paco’s Tacos & Tequila. The original location at 2809 South Blvd. will be closed April 17-18 for the move, then open April 19-21 and closed permanently after that date.

One of the main reasons for the move to SouthPark was for a bigger space with seating.

“As a bakery, our old location’s layout simple didn’t have space for dining in,” said social media representative Martin Schreiner. “We will have about 11 two tops, so rather than a sprawling restaurant concept, it’ll be more along the lines of a traditional French bistro where you grab a bite, have a quick working lunch or sit down to enjoy the pastry you bought.”

At the new location, you can expect both indoor and al fresco (our outdoor) dining areas.

And don’t worry, Renaissance Patisserie won’t be cutting it short on their delicious pastries, cakes, pies and macaroons. They will in fact have an expanded bistro menu featuring more savory items like composed salads, sandwiches (think croque madames and pommes frites), flatbreads, quiche slices and more.

To celebrate the move, the bakery will create a signature danish called ‘Une/La Renaissance,’ a puff pastry confection with fleur de sel sea salt and caramel with a crème brulé finish.

Inside, Renaissance Patisserie will have an open kitchen concept, which will allow customers to see their custom cakes through a glass partition. (We may never leave.)

Grand opening festivities will most likely be in late May or early June.
