NoDa Company Store’s new canteen opens at Camp North End Friday with sangria, rosé and beer
Beloved neighborhood watering hole NoDa Company Store is opening their new NoDa Company Canteen at Camp North End this Friday, May 11. As Camp North End kicks off another season of weekly Friday Nights in their Boileryard (complete with live music, food trucks and drink vendors), NoDa Company Canteen will start serving out of their temporary structure that will remain onsite through October, when the season of events concludes.
To be clear, this is not a pop-up. Owners Scott Lindsley and Joey Hewell are treating it as an extension of the Company Store. Hewell dubbed it the Company Store’s “cutest little sister.”

“It is essentially a tropical cocktail lounge,” said Lindsley, who will be out at the Canteen on Friday with Hewell slinging the kinds of sips that their business is already known for. The Canteen will also open for other select events.
Expect Charlotte beers, specialty sangria, sparkling rosé on tap, and nonalcoholic options like homemade sweet tea and homemade lemonade.
As a bonus, Lindsley and Hewell teamed up with Hearts Beat as One Foundation, which will receive a portion of proceeds from all sales in addition to the tips. The nonprofit serves local individuals and nonprofit organizations with varying needs, from animal care and rescue to homelessness.
While the Canteen will also have some light snacks available, their focus will be the beverage service (and the community support).
Come out to Camp North End on Friday to sip, order from food trucks like Chilaka Taco Lab and Hiya Food Truck, taste a treat from King of Pops and listen to music by It’s Snakes, Mike Strauss Band and That Guy Smitty.
Check out the nifty new pergola while you’re at it, too.
