We could all budget a little bit better in our lives, especially when it comes to eating, drinking and doing things in the Queen City. The CharlotteFive podcast broke down how to do Charlotte on a budget in the following neighborhoods…

Some of Sallie’s picks included:

Uptown

Activity

Rent out one of the $1 dockless bikes, and now dockless scooters, and stop at Romare Bearden Park. Soak up the atmosphere, bring a picnic lunch and hang out in one of the most Instagrammable spots in the city.

Activity

Walk over to the Charlotte Knights baseball game for just $9. If you go on a Friday, you’ll even be able to catch the free fireworks show after the game.

Total: About $10 (not including food or drink)

NoDa

Food
Head to NoDa Company Store’s Sunday Funday FREE Lunch. And it’s not just a simple meal that you could get anywhere. In the past, they’ve made homemade kimchi hot dogs, their version of the Big Mac and more. If you’re looking to spend a few bucks on drinks, try one of their homemade sangrias and soak in the sun on one of their bench swings.
Activity

Take a stroll along North Davidson Street and check out the neighborhood’s beautiful murals.

Some of Sean’s picks included:

South End

Activity

Looking for live music in Charlotte? Look no further than The Music Yard, located in between Mac’s Speed Shop and SouthBound. The space hosts free concerts every Saturday. Who knew good weather and music could be such a dangerously fun mix?

Plaza Midwood

Food

Check out Akahana Asian Bistro if you’re looking for quality food at a cheap price. Sushi lovers, if you haven’t been, you need to go, especially since you can get BOGO sushi all the time. It’s the perfect place to bring a date, too.

Total: Can be under $20 if you do BOGO
