(1) Geek out at Heroes Con

Each year thousands of comic lovers descend on Uptown Charlotte for Heroes Con. Hosted by Charlotte’s original comic shop, Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find, fans find three days of comic musts. Comic professionals, artists and fanatics will all be there.

(2) Mingle on the Green in Birkdale

Friday-Sunday, 7-9 p.m. (Friday/Saturday) and 4-6 p.m. (Sunday). Free. 16725 Birkdale Commons Pkwy, Huntersville.

Join the residents of Birkdale Village every Friday, Saturday and Sunday this summer to mingle and marvel at the live music. While you’re there, plan to peruse the shops and grab a bite in Birkdale. Friday’s band is Hipshack, followed by HC Oakes Band on Saturday and Acoustic Measures with Bob Trice on Sunday.

(3) Marvel at mustaches at the Brew Stash Bash

Saturday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Free. U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy.

Charlotte I mustache you a question, are you going to the Brew Stash Bash? It’s where the great outdoors meets the great world of brewing in a celebration of running, craft beer and (of course) mustaches. There will be a 6K Brew Dash, craft beer tasting, yoga and more.

(4) Tap your toes at the Queen City Jazz Fest

Saturday, 5 p.m. $60. Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd.

The QC Jazz Fest is back for another amazing year of smooth jazz and toe tapping tunes. For one day only, local and national jazz musicians are taking over one of Charlotte’s best outdoor stages. Artists include Brian Culbertson and Yuna.

(5) Picnic in the Park at First Ward Park

Sunday, 4-5:30 p.m. Free. First Ward Park, 301 E 7th St.

Join Charlotte Parks & Rec for their summer concert series, Picnic in the Park. Grab snacks and a blanket then head to First Ward Park every Sunday this summer for great live music with your friends and family. Jeff Brown will be performing.
