Wu’s Cajun Sea Food is now open. Take a look inside and check out the menu
If you’ve been wondering what the heck “Cajun-Asian” is, now’s your chance to find out.
Wu’s Cajun Seafood is now open in the former Nan & Byron’s location in South End (1714 South Blvd.). It’s the latest concept from Bottle Cap Group, which also opened Ink N Ivy, Whiskey Warehouse, Hot Taco, All American Pub and more.
If you drive down South Boulevard you’ve probably seen the transformation of the exterior of the building, complete with painted-black brick and alligators climbing up one wall.
But here’s a look at the inside.
The menu, developed by Bottle Cap Group Executive Chef Troy Gagliardo, is a mix of Cajun-style seafood and Asian favorites, resulting in dishes like the Fried Gator roll (Tasso ham, cilantro, Fresno chili, money sauce, green onion) and Gumbo Ramen (gumbo base, andouille, ramen noodles, crawfish, charred cabbage, Kimchi marinated soft egg). (A press release described it as “Louisiana low country meets Asian sweet and sexy.”)
You’ll also find seafood boils (shrimp, crawfish, oysters and more), poke, Fried Shrimp Toast and po’ boys. (Find photos of the full menu at the bottom of this post.)
Wu’s serves beer, wine and sake, along with specialty cocktails like the Wu’s 75 (Sutler’s Gin, St. Elder, lemon juice, ginger simple syrup, sparking rosé float) and She’s a Lychee (Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka, lychee nectar, lemon juice, simple syrup).
A grand opening is planned for July 15. Wu’s is open 11 a.m.-2 a.m. daily.
