(1) Get rowdy at the Culinary Fight Club
Today, 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door. Blackfinn Ameripub, 210 E. Trade St.
Charlotte Culinary Fight Club is back and this time it’s going to be the Pitmaster Throwdown. Blackfinn is searching for the perfect BBQ plate. Come cast your vote for the best. Contestants will have a 45-second pantry race and 120 minutes to cook. Your ticket gets you entry into the event, beer, bites and a ballot to help crown your favorite for the Taster’s Choice.
(2) Sip & spell at the Drunken Spelling Bee
Friday, 7-9 p.m. Free. Flight, 314 N. College St.
Register to compete or just show up and enjoy the drinks and the show. There will be drink specials (to help your memory of course), delicious food and tons of laughs. To sign up, email stephanie@flightclt.com or come early and sign up at 5:30 p.m. Parking will be validated at the Hearst Tower.
(3) Plan for your future by cheersing right now
Friday, 6-8 p.m. Free. Unknown Brewing, 1327 S. Mint St.
(4) Go Back to the Future in Midwood Park
Saturday, 8:15-10 p.m. Free. Midwood Park, 2100 Wilhelmina Ave.
Jump in your DeLorean and head over to Midwood Park for a movie under the stars with McFly and Doc Brown. Grab the picnic basket and blanket because admission is free. King of Pops will be on site. The movie will start a little after 8 p.m., or as soon as it’s dark enough.
(5) Enjoy rosé all day at City Lights
Sunday, 2-11 p.m. $30. City Lights Rooftop Bar, 555 S. McDowell St.
