A Christmas Eve Walk Turned into the Perfect Proposal [Allison & Will]

ALLISON COGGINS & WILLIAM LEE ROBERTSON III

It was about 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and we were celebrating with my family on John’s Island in Florida, which has been a tradition of ours since I was born. The family decided to go for a walk on the beach, although I thought to myself, “wait, we all have to shower and get ready for Christmas Mass later that night.” I had been reminded of the “schedule” numerous times already that day.

Will planned to have family and champagne waiting for us to celebrate. “We laughed when we found out that my mom and grandmama watched the whole thing peering through binoculars from the lifeguard stand, while my stepfather was taking pictures from the dunes,” says Allison.

With my family around me, we toasted to the future Mr. and Mrs. William Robertson at 5p.m., Christmas Eve on the beach… and that’s when I realized that mass wasn’t until the next day. They got me good. As told by Allison

Allison and Will will be married on March 10, 2018.
