(1) Root for the Panthers at South End Station’s Football Kick-Off

(2) Find Something Delicious at the Cotswold FTF Rally
Friday, 5-9 p.m. Free. Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Road.
Cotswold’s Friday Food Truck Rally will feature free parking, live music by Killin Time, kid-friendly areas and Charlotte’s best food trucks. Bring chairs, blankets and coolers with your bev of choice. The food truck lineup includes Cupcake Wagon and K&N BBQ.
(3) Sip & Sample at the Lenny Boy Q & Brew Day
Saturday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Free. Lenny Boy Brewing Co., 3000 S. Tryon St.
Lenny Boy is releasing a new bottle, Burn Down for What, in style. Come out for a BBQ co-hosted with A Bao Time, plus live tunes, local art and shopping. A Bao Time will serve BBQ plates that include: Barbeque roast pork, house slaw, corn bread and corn succotash. $12 plus tax per plate.
(4) Send Off Summer at the USNWC Labor Day Celebration
Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Free (parking is $5). U.S. National Whitewater Center. 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy.
Trail running, yoga flowing, beer drinking, cornhole tossing, music listening, fireworks watching—there’s a little something for everyone at the USNWC’s Labor Day celebration. Start at 9 a.m. with a trail race, pick either a 5K or a 15K and keep things rolling from there. Hit the yoga class, find a pair and enter the cornhole tournament if you’re feeling competitive. The live tunes will start up around 4 p.m. and continue into the evening. Stick around until 9:30 p.m. for sky sparklers.
(5) Celebrate & Participate in Yard Art Day
Monday, all day. Free. Charlotte.
Yard Art Day, a grassroots arts exhibition curated by the community, is taking Charlotte by storm on Labor Day. Deck out your yard with something creative or tour Charlotte looking for the best yard. City-wide, people deck out their yards, balconies and porches with art of all kinds. Whether it’s photography, sculpture, hula-hooping or a performance piece, it doesn’t matter. The only real rule of Yard Art Day? The art must be visible from the street. See the “yardist” map and participation details here.
