Kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and kick cancer’s you know what by sipping specialty pink brews and reveling in live music and food truck fun. All proceeds go to Carolinas Breast Cancer Fund. This collaboration between NoDa Brewing Company and Charlotte Radiology is free, open to the public and reservations are not required. The kickoff event will feature live music, food trucks, and a special pink brew.
(2) Catch an Adrenaline Rush at the Whitewater Film Series

Venture out to the USNWC for the Whitewater Film Series. You’re guaranteed a film profiling the great outdoors. Up this week is “BANFF Radical Reels.” Starts at sunset.
(3) Sip Up at Great Grapes Wine Fest
Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. $33+. Symphony Park, 4400 Sharon Road.

A ticket to ‘Great Grapes!’ is a ticket to 220 wine samples from over 20 vineyards from all over NC. This casual wine tasting event gets you a souvenir tasting glass, plus live music, food and kid friendly activities.
(4) Savor Beer, Tacos & Music at Taco Lucha Festival
Saturday, noon-6 p.m. $45 general admission. AvidXchange Music Factory, 1000 North Carolina Music Factory Blvd.
If you’re a taco lover and a beer drinker, life’s been leading up to Taco Lucha Fest. Sample beer from 40+ breweries, dig in as 14 restaurants compete for best taco and jam to the Spin Doctors. There will also be Libre Wrestling and a taco eating contest, with margaritas available.
(5) Party With Your Pet at BARKtoberfest in Plaza Midwood
Sunday, noon-5 p.m. Free. 2101 Central Ave.
It’s time to celebrate—Plaza Midwood is decked out with dog stations. How to celebrate? BARKtoberfest. Come out for a pet parade and then chill out at Resident Culture Brewing for a pet fest. There will be cool treats and fun games from dog station sponsors like Pet Supplies Plus, Off Leash Dog Training, The Dog Salon and Tracy Gregg, plus a pet photographer and pups from Greater Charlotte SPCA.
