Real Charlotte: Tanner Morita grows Charlotte’s culture with coffee and cocktails

“I think really I’m pretty passionate about growing the culture of the city here in Charlotte. I started Hex as a pop-up coffee shop and did that for about a year and a half. Probably six months into doing that, I was contacted by the general manager at Kindred, Blake Pope, about coming and joining the team up there. I’ve been there a little bit over a year. People like the Kindreds are really inspiring to me by the changes that they’ve been able to make in the city and in Davidson. They’re doing a lot for the region in general, which I really believe in. I think being at Kindred has been a huge opportunity and a learning experience to be close to the people that I’m inspired by, to take that into what I do at Hex as well.”
