2017 Charlotte Neighborhood Bracket semifinals: Which of these final 4 neighborhoods is Charlotte’s best?
Twenty-eight neighborhoods have been eliminated, and we’re down to the Fantastic Four in the 2017 Charlotte Neighborhood Bracket. But only one can take the crown of best neighborhood in Charlotte.
After an eventful second round, there were no surprises in the quarterfinals as each of the top seeds moved on.
– Top-seeded Plaza Midwood ruined Dilworth’s run just like that train creeping across Central Ave. ruins your commute.
– Elizabeth and the streetcar rumbled past South End and the Blue Line.
– NoDa sent Downtown Matthews back down Independence Boulevard.
– And Montford Park bowled over Myers Park, leaving it to ponder the meaning of Providence/Providence/Queens/Queens.
Those results set up some really intriguing semifinal matches. In the first semi, we have close rivals (1) Plaza Midwood and (4) Elizabeth in a matchup I’m calling Pandemonium on Pecan.
On the other side, we have two neighborhoods — (2) NoDa and (6) Montford Park/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center — that are very far apart in both geography and vibe.

The voting works the same way as in previous rounds: One vote per person per day. We rated the neighborhoods on things like restaurant/bar scene, shopping, location, potential and general coolness, so keep those in mind when you’re voting.
