(1) Take Us Out to the BB&T Ballpark

Enjoy opening night with this game, as the Charlotte Knights take on the Norfolk Tides. It’s a good day for baseball, fun and games, beer and stunning views of the skyline.
(2) Zipline & Dine at the USNWC
Friday, with available start times at 6 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m. $75. U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy.
Ditch your drab date night dinner plans for something different at the USNWC. You’ll swing through the trees as the sun goes down on five different zip-lines and two roped bridges before rappelling down from the tree canopy by the Catawba River. After a brisk hike back to camp, you’ll be met with a romantic dinner around a roaring fire pit on the South Ridge.
(3) Keep CLT Beautiful at Birdsong’s Creek Clean Up & After Party
Saturday, 9:45 a.m. Free. Birdsong Brewing Co., 1016 N. Davidson St.
Join the Birdsong crew in giving back to the community by cleaning up their section of Little Sugar Creek. This is a fun volunteer opportunity for all ages and a chance to bond with the Birdsong crew and many other members of our community. Volunteers will be rewarded handsomely with beer, pizza and prizes during a fun after party at the Birdsong tap room.
(4) Local Art & Weirdness at the NoDa Eclectic Market
Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Neighborhood Theatre, 514 E. 36th St.
NoDa Eclectic Marketplace reminds us why we love this neighborhood so much. It brings art and community under one roof with a colorful array of artists, craftsmen, collectors, vintage wear, farmers, performers and food vendors, giving you a taste of the best makers and shakers in NoDa and CLT.
(5) Witness BBQ Royalty at the 2nd Annual Pig Picking
Sunday, noon-7 p.m. $10. Free Range Brewing, 2320 N. Davidson St.
This is the 2nd Annual Pig Picking with Order/Fire and Free Range Brewing. Order/Fire begins at 1 p.m. featuring Sam Jones. During this episode, Marc sits down with renowned whole hog BBQ pit master Sam Jones from Sam Jones BBQ and the Skylight Inn BBQ. Jones is considered one of the top BBQ practitioners in NC and he will be cooking a whole pig on this day. A suggested $10 donation gets you a plate of BBQ and sides. All proceeds will go to the Community Culinary School of Charlotte.
