Wild Ponies and Mountains Create Engagement-Photo Magic [Peyton & Jeremy]

Almost two years after we started dating, Jeremy and I went to Charleston, S.C. for the weekend. We were having the most incredible time—enjoying the beautiful weather, walking the cobblestone streets, touring the historic sites, and just relaxing with no real plans. Or so I thought.
Unbeknownst to me, Jeremy had been meticulously planning our day so that we would wind up making a special stop before our dinner reservations. I can only imagine what he was thinking when I’d want to linger at certain places or change my outfit several times.
Just before sunset, we ended up at the Wentworth Mansion. We went up the spiral staircase to get to the rooftop cupola, which presented us with some amazing views of Charleston. We had the entire rooftop to ourselves.
I had my back to Jeremy, taking pictures of the scenery, when I heard a rustling behind me. I turned around to find he was down on one knee, holding a ring box—his hands shaking so much I briefly worried he might drop it. I was overwhelmed with excitement, and I couldn’t tell you exactly what he said. But I’ll always remember the end of his question: “Be my forever?” —As told by Peyton
Peyton and Jeremy were married on September 17, 2016.
