Who:

Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority

On this week’s podcast, we talked to her about what attracts visitors to Charlotte and whether or not Charlotte is a tourism destination.

What: CRVA is a division of the City of Charlotte focused on increasing visitor spending in the area. It also supports venues like the Charlotte Convention Center, Bojangles’ Coliseum and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and markets the city to potential visitors. It’s behind the “Charlotte’s Got A Lot,” branding you’ve probably seen around town.

We asked White if, in fact, Charlotte does have a lot.

Anything else? We also talked about:

– How House Bill 2 has affected tourism and events in Charlotte.

– If Charlotte will host the Super Bowl any time soon.

– Camp North End — what’s happening there now and its fascinating history.

– And what you should be doing this weekend. (It involves volunteering and horses.)
