(1) Compete at Trivia Thursday at Coco & the Director.

Coco & the Director hosts Thursday Night Trivia on the second and fourth week of the month. Enjoy $5 wine, $4 beer and half-off pastries while you compete for prizes.

(2) Sip & Shop for Mother’s Day.

Friday, 4-9 p.m. 7th Street Public Market, 224 E. 7th St.


Celebrate Mom with sparkling wine, live music and shopping at the 7th Street Public Market. She’s done a lot for you, it’s time to spoil her.

(3) Stop and smell the flowers at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.

Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont.


Spend quality time with the family as you stroll through the Botanical Garden this Mother’s Day. There will be lunch, live music, carriage rides, crafts, mimosas and a gift for mom (supplies limited). Moms and garden members get in free. But if you want to splurge for Mom, get her the Mother’s Day Wine Walk package($22-$25), which includes a wine glass and samples at five wine stations.

(4) Immerse yourself in Asian culture at the Dragon Boat Festival.

Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Free. Ramsey Creek Park, 18441 Nantz Road, Cornelius. 


The Charlotte Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Festival Race bring a day of family-oriented cultural immersion, plus an exciting sporting event that’s been around for 2,000+ years. The Charlotte race is open to anyone over 15, so if you feel like flexing your rowing skills, this is your chance.

(5) Enjoy unlimited pours at the South End Hops Fest.

Saturday, 2 p.m. $35+. 308 W Carson Blvd.


The fourth annual South End Hops Festival will grace Charlotte once again with tons of food, live music and unlimited tastings of craft beer. Bonus, this dog-friendly fest benefits RescuedMe.

And you have a couple of other festival options: The N.C. Brewers and Music Festival this weekend at Rural Hill and the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival Saturday at Symphony Park.
