C5 Checklist: 5 things you should do this weekend | May 19-21
The weather is amazing. Get outside and go somewhere this weekend.
(1) Catch an adrenaline rush at the Whitewater Film Series
Friday, sunset. Free. U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy.
Venture out to the USNWC on select Friday evenings for the Whitewater Film Series. Each week the documentary will be different, but you’re guaranteed a film profiling the great outdoors. This Friday: “180º South” is the film.
(2) Shop the biggest boutique sale in Charlotte at Cotswold Marketplace
Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Cotswold Marketplace, 200 N Sharon Amity Road.
Featuring over 50 boutiques, vendors and local artists, head to Cotswold Marketplace for their 7th Annual May Sale! Save on home decor, upholstery, lighting, artwork, rugs and gifts. This only happens once a year.
(3) Cheers on the Roof at CLT Beer Fest
Saturday, 3-7 p.m. $20+. Rooftop 210, 210 East Trade St.
We can’t say no to a beer festival, and we certainly can’t say no to a rooftop beer festival. Head to the EpiCentre’s Rooftop 210 to sample over 75 craft, import and specialty beers while soaking up some sunshine (fingers crossed!) and taking in the Charlotte skyline. Admission gets you sampling tickets, a souvenir tasting glass, live music and lots of fun. Meanwhile, a VIP ticket will get you all that and early admission.
(4) Jam at the Reid’s Patio Concert Series
Saturday, 7-10 p.m. $20. Reid’s Fine Foods Restaurant and Wine Bar, 4331 Barclay Downs Dr.
Reid’s is kicking off a new patio concert series at their SouthPark location. Enjoy live tunes outside along with fine food and drinks! The Blue Dogs will be playing this weekend.
(5) Take a Lap with Laps & Taps
Sunday, noon-4 p.m. Must be 21+. $49. zMAX Dragway, 6570 Bruton Smith Blvd., Concord.
Enjoy a chauffeured afternoon to Cabarrus Brewing, Twenty Acres Brewing and through Charlotte Motor Speedway. Sample beer from your souvenir tasting glass, then take a lap around the speedway. Your ticket includes two brewery visits, multiple samples at each location, a behind the scenes tour of the brewery, a souvenir tasting glass and a few laps around the Charlotte Motor Speedway mile and a half track.
