NoDa Brewing announces new routes for its popular Run Club
By now you’ve probably seen that NoDa is temporarily closing its original taproom on North Davidson at the end of this month.
NoDa built a new taproom on North Tryon last year and, since then, the old location has served as the home of NoDa’s barrel-aging and sours program, some small batch beers and the NoDa Brewing Run Club on Wednesday nights.
But the closing of the old taproom isn’t the end of the Run Club, which has become a super popular weekly event for runners and beer lovers. (Have you ever tried to drive down North Davidson at 6:30 p.m. on a Wednesday?) It’s just moving over to the North Tryon location starting Aug. 3, and now we have details on the 1-, 3- and 5-mile routes.
Here are the routes that owner and president Suzie Ford shared with me yesterday (click to enlarge):
1-mile route
3-mile route
5-mile route
Ford said earlier this week that she wanted the routes to be more creative — and safer — than just running up and down North Tryon Street, and these routes seem to accomplish that, winding through the Tryon Hills neighborhood.
Ford said the brewery plans to do some neighborhood outreach “a couple days before the first run.”
She also said there will be a “big party” for the last run club on North Davidson July 27 and “an even bigger party” at Tryon for the first run club there Aug. 3. Think giveaways, raffles, food trucks, vendors and a band. (Stay tuned for more details.)
