For nearly a year now, we’ve been telling you the 10 things you must do each month. Now, we’re breaking it down even more. Introducing the C5 Checklist, which features 5 things you must do each week.

Your mission: Complete as many of the tasks on this list as possible this week.

Take a picture of yourself doing one of the five things, tag us on social media and include the hashtag #C5Checklist to be eligible for a giveaway at the end of the week!

(1) Grab something to eat (or drink) at Babalu.

It’s finally open, so now you need to go try it. As Theoden pointed out, options include an Enchilada Of The Day and a Beef Empanada, but also Creole Shrimp & Grits and Mississippi Delta Tamales.

(2) Try out one of the NoDa Brewing Run Club’s new routes.

With the temporary closing of the original NoDa Brewing location, the popular NoDa Brewing Run Club also had to move. It will make it’s debut at the new North Tryon location this week at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3.

Expect three new routs of 1, 3 and 5 miles (see them here) plus a “housewarming party” featuring a free run club pint glass and pint glass coozie, food and giveaways.

(3) Go out for a trivia night.

To get you started, Rhino Market has trivia Monday. Pint Central has trivia Tuesday. Ed’s Tavern has trivia Wednesday and Thursday.

(4) Celebrate IPA Day

We will take advantage of any occasion to drink local IPAs. Legion Brewing is celebrating the day with a Friends and Beerfest Saturday, Aug. 6, from 2-8 p.m. There’ll be IPAs from 15 local breweries, live music and food from area restaurants. If you buy early, a $10 ticket gets you a tasting glass and four tasting tickets. If you buy the day of the event, $10 gets you the tasting glass and three tasting tickets.

(5) Get lunch uptown from Vic the Chili Man.

You know you’ve been wanting to ever since we wrote about him a couple of weeks ago. You can find him and his signature dogs at 4th and Tryon streets, Tuesday through Friday, from around 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. From what we hear, the hot dogs make waiting outside in the heat worth it.
