Always wanted to try coworking? You can do it for free Friday at 8 local spaces
Always wanted to try coworking? Here’s your chance.
Eight coworking spaces around the Charlotte area will celebrate International Coworking Day by offering free day passes Friday, Aug. 5.
“We just kind of wanted to get the word out about coworking in Charlotte,” said Ryan Mitchell, co-founder of Advent Coworking who organized the free day pass campaign. “If you’re working from home or a coffee shop and it isn’t meeting all your needs, or you want to try a different locale one day, come out and try one of the coworking spaces. … People can find great places to work and collaborate with other folks.”
Coworking spaces offer affordable, shared spaces for startups, entrepreneurs or anyone who’s looking for an alternative to the home office, coffee shop or cubicle. Prices range anywhere from $99 a month for an open space (think: a seat at a long table) to $400 or more a month for private offices.
To take advantage of the free day, show up at any of the spaces listed below between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mitchell even suggests hitting several throughout the day to get a feel for the distinct vibe at each space.
“One coworking place is right for one person, and another might be right for another person,” he said. “Each has its own flavor.”
