(1) Eat some nachos from our list of Charlotte’s best nachos.

Easy, right? All you have to do is pick from Joanne Spataro’s scrumptious ranking list: Lupie’s Cafe, East Boulevard Bar and Grill, Tipsy Burro Saloon and Cantina, Zada Jane’s Corner Cafe and Sabor Latin Grill. Sabor is listed as Joanne’s No. 1 pick. Here’s why: “The Nachos Supreme is an embrace of chip and cheese so light and fresh and filling you’ll think you can have another round, but you shouldn’t.”

(2) Track down a pumpkin beer. Then drink it.

Hint hint: The NoDa Brewing Gordgeous pumpkin ale is already on tap. It’s one of the many signs of fall showing up in Charlotte.

(3) Register and join the party at our Panthers Tailgate.

Come one, come all, to our CharlotteFive Carolina Panthers Tailgate Party Aug. 31 at NoDa Brewing on North Tryon Street. You get to celebrate the release of a new Charlotte Observer book about Cam Newton called “Super Cam” while drinking the beer that comes with your $10 ticket. Don’t miss out on food from the TIN Kitchen or the special (and limited) Roaring Riot brew, either. Details here.

(4) Have a seat at Nellie’s Southern Kitchen.

Kevin Jonas, Sr., father of the Jonas Brothers band members, opened this new restaurant in Belmont recently. What to find there: fresh biscuits, chicken and dumplings, creamy pimento cheese and toast points, Nellie’s signature fried chicken, mac and cheese in a skillet and more.

Ok I’m hungry.

(5) Get out into the city and get active before 7 a.m.

Part of a running group? Great. Off to Madabolic? You suck. (Kidding, go you.) Grabbing an enormous cup of coffee at Nova’s Bakery like me because that’s really all you’re capable of accomplishing circa dawn? That works.

Just get out there — the day is waiting.
