Ink N Ivy is opening very soon. Finally. Here’s what you need to know about it
If you work uptown, especially in Third Ward, you’ve probably walked past Ink N Ivy and wondered for weeks now when this place is finally gonna open. Well, now we have an answer.
Ink N Ivy, the latest concept from the same group that brought you All American Pub, Brazwells Premium Pub, Whiskey Warehouse and more, set its grand opening for Monday, Nov. 7.
And when it opens, you’ll have access to one of the best patios in uptown.
Ink N Ivy, managed by Bottle Cap Group, sits on South Church Street, right beside Packard Place and the new Not Just Coffee location, and across the street from Romare Bearden Park. It brings an dinner, late-night food and nightlife option to an area that doesn’t have much of that outside of Brevard Court.
This is actually the second Ink N Ivy — Bottle Cap Group opened one in Greenville, S.C., earlier this year. A third is planned for Charleston.
Morgan Conroy, Marketing Director with Bottle Cap Group, showed me around Thursday. Here’s what you need to know.
Food
American cuisine, with a twist, Conroy said. Expect wings, sandwiches, salads, steak, barbecue and a daily “Blue Plate” special, with offerings like fried chicken, shrimp creole, and fish and chips. There will also be a raw bar (pictured below) available all day. (View the menu here. Prices could change.)
It will offer lunch and dinner, and a late-night menu, and brunch (chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pancakes, etc.) on the weekends.
Drinks
The cocktail list has a “Pick Your Poison” theme, to go along with the “Ivy” motif in the restaurant. The drink menu below is from Greenville, so prices may change.
Interior
The interior design plays on the Ink N Ivy theme.
– Ink: Tattoo-themed art (all of the art is hand-painted by Artisan Rooms out of Ohio) and edgy decorations like animal skulls and a real motorcycle.
– Ivy: Elegant chandeliers, greenery and art.
Big flat-screen TVs lined most walls, making it a good spot for gameday, “but you don’t feel like it’s a sports bar,” Conroy said. Being so close to the Panthers and Knights stadium, I expect this will become a popular pre- and post-game hangout.
That patio
The patio is split into two sections. The front section will be an extension of the main dining room, separated by four large glass doors that can be pulled open.
The back half will be a space of it’s own, called Vine.
This area has its own bar, games like Jenga, table tennis and corn hole, and it will have three “VIP” tables in the back, each with its own TV screen.
In Greenville, the Vine part of Ink N Ivy is a third-floor club. This one won’t be a full-on club, but it will have some elements of that — don’t be surprised if you see a DJ out there. It could also be used as an event space for corporate functions.
And the whole thing overlooks Romare Bearden Park, giving you an awesome view of Third Ward.
When you can go
The grand opening is set for Monday, Nov. 7.
Hours: 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Ink N Ivy will also be hosting a Pick Your Poison Halloween Event starting at 8 p.m. Oct. 29. $15 tickets benefit Habitat for Humanity and include passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet.
On Oct. 30, Ink N Ivy will partner with the American Cancer Society to throw a tailgate party with hot dogs, tall boys and more, starting at 11 a.m.
