Real Charlotte: Gregory Pizarro, Jr.

Real Charlotte is a weekly series highlighting everyday humans that live in Charlotte. The people are what make this place special. Through this series, we hope to show you the successes, struggles, goals and dreams of Charlotteans.

“My name is Gregory Pizarro, Jr. I currently work at Bank of America in the Junior Military Officer Leadership Program and serve as an Adviser to a Commanding General in the United States Army Reserve. I hail from Paterson, NJ but grew up in York, PA. I am an avid runner, world traveler, and political junkie. …

“The happiest moments in my life have been serving people in underprivileged and underrepresented neighborhoods. Having been humbled by homelessness, for a short period in my life, I find extreme gratification in serving those who need it most and serve in several capacities for several nonprofits in the Charlotte community. …

“The first thing I notice about Charlotte is that it is the biggest, smallest city in America. This has given me the feeling of being home in the country but being able to enjoy all the things a metropolitan city offers. …

“Relationships rule. At the end of the day, what matters most are the people in our lives. Put them first every single day. Before work. Before the computer. Before your hobbies. Treat them like they are everything to you. Because they are.”
